You can install an official Guru Maps APK when you need an update before it becomes available in your app store. Get it from our Android download page. Google Play remains the simplest option for automatic updates.
\nUse the same edition as your installed app. Free and Huawei use the same app identifier and can replace each other; they are not separate installations. Do not switch between them just to get a newer version.
\nThere is no need to disable Google Play Protect. If it blocks installation, stop and contact support rather than bypassing the warning.
\nCheck the required Android version, available storage, and selected edition. Download the file again if the download was interrupted. An older APK normally cannot be installed over a newer one. Do not uninstall the app as a workaround: you could lose local data. Contact support if the problem persists.

\nThe old behavior was always too optimistic. A short-looking line on the map became a short-looking ETA, even when the trail itself told a more honest story.
\nWalking routes now use a slope-aware model. In plain terms:
\nThe result is an ETA that lines up much better with the posted times you see on trail signs — and it's the same model everywhere, whether you're hiking in the Alps, the Tatras, or just walking up a steep part of town. As always, it works fully offline, so you get honest times with no signal at all.

\nTap a spot on the map and start navigating, and Guru now saves it to your history — something it simply didn't do before. Even raw coordinates get an entry. And rather than leaving it nameless, Guru looks up the place's real street and house number on the spot, so your history reads like \"Bergstraße 12\" instead of a blank line. It resolves a sensible address even in dense areas packed with points of interest, while bookmarks and businesses keep their own custom names.
\nA few smaller niceties round things out: the map no longer jumps when you open a panel or bottom sheet — it stays put under your finger — and there are the usual fixes throughout.
